'Wolves get no Love for two games (Yahoo! Sports)

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love took a two-game suspension for a stomp on Rockets forward Luis Scola's face during Saturday's game. Love reportedly stepped on Scola's face and upper body as he ran up the court and the Rockets forward fell down.

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has been suspended two games for stomping on Rockets forward Luis Scola's face in their game on Saturday. The NBA announced the suspension on Monday. The incident occurred when Scola fell to the court during the third quarter. As Love headed back to the other end, he stepped on Scola's face and upper body.

Just when the Timberwolves finally reach .500 this late in the season for the first time in five years, now they must wait to learn if they will play on without Kevin Love and, if so, for how long.

Early in Saturday's third quarter, Love stepped on Houston forward Luis Scola's face and chest in a fleeting moment that ended up on YouTube within minutes and will have NBA officials playing and rewinding it over and over.

On Monday in Houston, Scola flung the ball off Love's private area as Scola was falling out of bounds and Love collapsed in a heap, and in obvious pain.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are mediocre. Considering how bad they have been in recent years, it's a huge accomplishment. Love scored 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves over Kevin McHale's Houston Rockets 100-91 on Saturday night, pushing Minnesota's record to 12-12.

Wolves overcome Morrow's 42 to beat Nets 108-105 (AP)

The Minnesota Timberwolves almost never won away from home last season. Now, they don't seem eager to go back there. Luke Ridnour made the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 1:23 left, Nikola Pekovic scored a career-high 27 points, and the Timberwolves beat the New Jersey Nets 108-105 on Friday night to surpass last season's road victory total.
